Tamako Kitashirakawa is a clumsy and adorable teenage girl. She also belongs to a family of mochi makers inside the Usagiyama Shopping District. One day, she found a talking bird that claims he is a royalty from a distant kingdom. His name is Dera Mochimazzi. He is currently on a long journey to seek a bride for his kingdom’s prince. Dera ended up living in Tamako's home and become addicted to Kitashirakawa's mochi. Dera became overweight hence wasn't able unable to fly back to their kingdom. Mochizou, her childhood friend has been in love with her. When Dera decided to choose Tamako as his prince's bride, will Tamako accept the proposal?
